About

Hi, I’m Stephanie and welcome to my virtual home!

Come on in and get comfy while I tell you a little about myself.

I’m a licensed, board certified mental health therapist and writer whose guiding principle is that if you have wisdom from which others might benefit you are obligated to pass it on.

While I welcome you to contact me to discuss your specific concerns, I specialize in the following areas:

  • Grief and loss (including children over 12 years old)
  • Infertility
  • Relationship issues

I know looking for the “right” therapist can be a daunting task. It might be helpful to know, that for me, I felt it was necessary to earn the right to accompany others on their personal psychological journeys not only through my formal education but most especially from having had the courage to embark on the same psychological journey I knew I would be accompanying my clients. Having now been on the “couch” myself, I have a deep comfort level with and unparalleled respect for the therapeutic process.

Prior to going back into private practice, I worked as the coordinator of the children’s grief and loss program at the largest hospice in the state of Delaware where I had the distinct privilege of supporting and guiding children whose loved ones were dying from terminal illnesses. In addition to my work as a therapist, I’m a consultant to other agencies developing programs on grief and loss, am a seasonal columnist at Webby Award nominated Savvyauntie.com and a fresh modern day Dear Abby-esque advice columnist for The Community News at “Ask Aunt Steph.”

I’m a proud graduate of Villanova University, a member of The American Counseling Association, National Board of Certified Counselors, RESOLVE, The American Fertility Association, The American Academy of Bereavement and The American Psychological Association. I’ve been a trusted source and featured in, both print, radio and television media, including The Huffington Post, Counseling Today, First for Women Magazine, Blog Talk Radio, CN8, WHYY, The Wilmington News Journal, Staten Island Parent’s Magazine and The Berk’s County Family Times.

On a lighter note, I have an on-going love affair with slate chalkboards and wear pink lipstick. It’s how I met my best friend, Stephanie in college. Clinique’s shade fresh strawberry…at first glance, we had each other at, “Fresh strawberry, right?”
